Overview
If you intend to use this component with Finsweet's Table of Contents attributes follow these steps:
  1. Remove the current class from the content27_link item as Webflow's native current state will automatically be applied.
  2. To add interactions which automatically expand and collapse sections in the table of contents select the content27_h-trigger element, add an element trigger and select Mouse click (tap)
  3. For the first click select the custom animation Content 28 table of contents [Expand] and for the second click select the custom animation Content 28 table of contents [Collapse].
  4. In the Trigger Settings, deselect all checkboxes other than Desktop and above to disable the interaction on tablet and below.

Cerakote fundamentals

Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating applied through electrostatic spray that bonds at the molecular level to create a finish resisting corrosion, chemicals, and extreme temperatures. For aerospace applications, it provides protection without adding significant weight to critical components. The coating withstands harsh environments, salt spray, and thermal cycling while maintaining integrity through years of service in demanding conditions.

Durability and performance

Proper durability depends on substrate preparation and application technique, both areas where Colorado Kote maintains strict standards throughout every project. We use spectrophotometric analysis to verify color accuracy against standards, ensuring batch-to-batch consistency through controlled spray parameters and material tracking. Cerakote offers hundreds of standard colors plus custom mixing capabilities, with color samples retained for reference on all orders.

Comparison to other finishes

Cerakote adheres to complex geometries and recessed areas where powder coating cannot reach, working on metals, polymers, and composites without the high-temperature cure required for powder coating. Ceramic coatings outperform traditional finishes in corrosion resistance and temperature tolerance while maintaining appearance through environmental exposure. For aerospace precision, Cerakote offers superior versatility and performance advantages that justify the investment.

Technical specifications

Cerakote thickness typically ranges from 0.5 to 2.0 mils depending on application, with aerospace specifications potentially requiring specific thickness ranges. We measure and document coating thickness for every batch and conduct adhesion testing, salt spray testing, and thermal cycling verification. Hardness and coating thickness are measured per aerospace standards, with comprehensive test reports accompanying all aerospace orders including coating thickness, adhesion results, and batch traceability.

Environmental resistance

Cerakote resists salt spray, UV exposure, and temperature extremes from minus forty to five hundred degrees Fahrenheit. Chemical resistance includes fuels, oils, and hydraulic fluids commonly found in aerospace environments. Performance in your specific environment can be verified through testing and detailed technical specifications provided by our engineering team.

Cerakote

Ceramic coating fundamentals and what sets it apart in aerospace applications.

What is Cerakote?

Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating applied through electrostatic spray. It bonds at the molecular level to create a finish that resists corrosion, chemicals, and extreme temperatures. For aerospace applications, it provides protection without adding significant weight.

How durable is Cerakote coating?

The coating withstands harsh environments, salt spray, and thermal cycling. In aerospace conditions, properly applied Cerakote maintains integrity through years of service. Durability depends on substrate preparation and application technique, both areas where Colorado Kote maintains strict standards.

What colors are available?

Cerakote offers hundreds of standard colors plus custom mixing capabilities. We maintain color consistency across batches using spectrophotometric verification. See our color chart for the full range of available finishes.

How does Cerakote compare to powder coating?

Cerakote adheres to complex geometries and recessed areas where powder coating cannot reach. It works on metals, polymers, and composites without the high-temperature cure required for powder. For aerospace precision, Cerakote offers superior versatility.

Why choose ceramic over traditional finishes?

Ceramic coatings outperform traditional finishes in corrosion resistance and temperature tolerance. They maintain appearance through environmental exposure and require minimal maintenance. For military and aerospace components, the performance advantage justifies the investment.
